Teche Regional Medical Center Names 2015 Mercy Award Winner

Teche Regional recently announced that Raymond Pisani has been recognized as the hospital’s 2015 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s more than 60 hospitals, including Teche Regional, who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
The Mercy Award program is an annual recognition that was established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer (CEO). The Mercy Award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.
“At Teche Regional, we share LifePoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize that this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Butch Frazier, CEO of Teche Regional. “We are extremely proud to recognize Raymond Pisani for his efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. He goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person he encounters is treated with the highest level of care and compassion.”
Raymond has been an employee of Teche Regional since 1982. He is a very caring and loyal employee and human being. In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, Kenner Regional Medical Center, called and advised that they had patients requiring dialysis and ventilators an their facility would be running out of fuel within 24 hours. Raymond, along with other volunteers from Teche Regional, traveled to Kenner in their personal vehicles and transported patients back to Teche Regional.
Raymond is very active within the community. He has volunteered for the American Lung Association of Chicago’s Asthma Camp in the past. He volunteers for events sponsored by Teche Regional to promote better health. He is an ambassador for St. Mary Parish and was recognized as a Chamber of Commerce Leadership St. Mary Class of 2014 participant. Raymond has been a guest speaker at local universities, school systems and civic groups presenting Cardiopulmonary and health care related topics. He is active on local, state and national levels for Respiratory Care. He is very active on legislative issues that involve healthcare and respiratory profession and serves as State President on the National Level for AARC.
Raymond has served as a LifePoint Representative on the Health Trust Purchasing Group Advisory Committee on Respiratory Therapy. He is actively involved in and serves as President and Board Member of a local Mardi Gras Organization in Morgan City. He was previously voted Outstanding Director for Teche Regional Medical Center in 2006 and 2011.
Each hospital winner, including Raymond, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2015 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August, to which Raymond and all hospital winners are invited to attend.
